EASY PUTO PAO


Ingredients:

1 (1 kg) pack SMMI MIX ‘N STEAM PUTO MIX
3-1/2 cups water

Filling

1 (450 g) pack PUREFOODS HEAT & EAT BEEF PARES, drained (reserve sauce) and meat diced
1/4 cup cornstarch, dissolved in 1/4 cup water

Topping

4 pc salted eggs, peeled and each piece sliced into 12

Procedure:

  1. Prepare 3 inch diameter puto molds by lining with cupcake liners. Set aside.
  2. Prepare steamer. Meantime, in a bowl, combine puto mix and water, and mix until smooth in consistency. Set aside.
  3. In a sauce pan, simmer sauce and add cornstarch mixture, stirring continuously until sauce thickens. Stir in meat.
  4. Fill each mold with 1 tbsp puto batter, 1 tbsp filling and then 2 tbsp puto batter. Garnish with a slice of salted egg.
  5. Arrange in the steamer and steam for 20 minutes. 

 

Makes 36 pieces.

 

Tip/s:

  • Enjoy other Purefoods Ready-to Eat viands as filling such as Dinuguan, Beef Caldereta, and Lechon Paksiw.
  • Wrap steamer cover with cloth to protect moisture dripping onto puto.
  • Cool filling before use so that it is thick enough.
  • Product will keep in a cool temperature for 1 day and 3 days chilled.
  • Replace water with pandan water for enhanced puto flavor.
