POTATO HOTDOG TORNADOES


Ingredients:

6 pc BBQ sticks
6 (80 g each) pc potatoes skin on, washed and scrubbed clean
6 pc PUREFOODS TENDER JUICY HOTDOG JUMBO
1 (4 cups) L cooking oil
2 cups MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
2 tbsp onion powder
2 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp iodized fine salt
1/2 tbsp pepper
1-1/2 cups water

Procedure:

  1. Place a BBQ stick through each potato, and then cut to create a spiral design on each potato, without cutting through.
  2. Pull the sticks out of the potatoes and using a potato peeler or apple corer, carefully carve out flesh from the center of each potato. The space created should be a wide enough to fit a hot dog.
  3. Place a hot dog in the hollow center of each potato. Pull the potato apart so it completely covers the length of the hot dog. Set aside.
  4. Mix the flour, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and water together with a whisk.
  5. Heat some oil in a deep pot to approximately 350°F. Dredge the spiral potato dogs in the batter and deep fry in hot oil until golden brown (approximately 5-6 minutes).

Makes 6 servings.

(Yield: 6 pc spiral potato hotdogs/ 1 pc per serving)
