CLASSIC REUBEN SANDWICHES


Ingredients:

8 slices rye bread
1/4 cup MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER SALTED, softened
1/2 cup Russian dressing
1 (8 pc) pack Swiss cheese
1 (400 g) pack COOK EXPRESS HOMESTYLE CORNED BEEF BRISKET, thawed and thinly sliced
1 (142 g) cup sauerkraut, drained well

Russian dressing

1/4 (57.5 g) cup MAGNOLIA REAL MAYONNAISE
2 (28 g) tbsp tomato ketchup
1 (15.8 g) tbsp prepared horseradish
1 (5.7 g) tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 (6.3 g) tbsp sugar
1/8 (0.28 g) tsp paprika
1/8 (0.62 g) tsp iodized fine salt
1/8 (0.25 g) tsp pepper

Procedure:

  1. In a bowl, combine ingredients for Russian dressing. Mix well and set aside.
  2. On half of bread slices, spread butter. To the remaining half of bread slices, spread Russian dressing.
  3. On bread with Russian dressing, place 2 slices of cheese, slices of corned beef and top with 1/4 cup sauerkraut. Cover with remaining bread slices, buttered side up, to make sandwiches.
  4. Heat a non stick pan and place sandwiches. Cook 3 minutes per side until golden and cheese melts.

Makes 4 servings.

(Yield: 4 sandwiches/1 sandwich per serving)
