CHEEZEE BACON PINWHEELS


Ingredients:

1 (300 g) pack store bought puff pastry dough, cut into 2"x2" squares
1 (160 g) pack MAGNOLIA CHEEZEE, cut into 24 cubes
100 grams PUREFOODS CLASSIC HONEYCURED BACON, cut into 1/2 inch strips and cooked until crispy and then crumbled
1/2 tsp Spanish paprika
1/2 (125 g) cup store bought tomato or spaghetti sauce

Procedure:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. On each phyllo pastry square, place 1 tsp of bacon and a square of cheese.
  3. Cut four sides of phyllo from the center towards the edge of each dough. Make sure not to cut underneath cheese and bacon.
  4. Fold two opposite sides into the center, gently pressing onto the cheese to seal. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes.
  5. Arrange on a platter. Sprinkle with paprika and serve with warm tomato or spaghetti sauce.

Makes 12 servings
(Yield: 24 pinwheels/2 pinwheels per serving)

Tip/s:

  • Simmer tomato sauce for about 15 minutes to temper its acidity.
